Most of Raspadskaya’s underground mines are located in the highlands.

The company plans to stop working under small rivers flowing through field areas, where there is a risk of surface collapse or other danger for mine operations.

Every mine has its own environmental service, including wastewater purification and dust control machines. The company is also implementing a program for updating wastewater purification systems.

Cut mining has a significant impact on the environment. However, the impact is minimised through continual re-cultivation during cut mine operations.
