Founded in 1973, Raspadskaya is now one of the leading coal producers in Russia.
Raspadskaya is a compact integrated coal mining and enrichment complex located in the Kemerovo region of the Russian Federation. Raspadskaya's license area is part of a very extensive coal field south-west of Tom-Usinsk area of the Kuznetsk coal basin which itself accounts for about three quarters of the total coking coal production in Russia.
Raspadskaya's total resources were estimated at 1,461 million tons and total coal reserves at 782 million ton (JORC standards, according to IMC Consulting report as of June 2006, of which 22 million tons produced by 31 March 2008). High quality of our reserves allows us to employ highly productive modern equipment and achieve high recovery rates. Based on the volume produced in 2007, our reserves-to-production ratio amounts to about 55 years of production.
Raspadskaya's coal production is 100% coking coal. The company comprises a group of enterprises, including
— Raspadskaya Mine, an underground production consisting of three longwalls. The largest mine of the group and the largest underground operation in Russia. It is intended to launch in Q3 2017 a new longwall 4–6–33 in seam 6-6a representing over 127 million tons of GZh coal grade.
— Raspadskaya Koksovaya (Coke) Mine is a Board and Pillar production from seam III from Field 2. The board and pillar technology involves coal extraction in chambers separated by coal pillars.
— MUK-96 is a sealed mine. It suspended coal production in 2016 due to complex geology conditions.
— Raspadskiy Open Pit is an open mine applying the best global mining practices. Since 2014 it has been mining a young section Raspadsky IX-XI. Its estimated deposit amounts to 120 millions tons which is worth 20 years of production.
— Raspadskaya Wash Plant is a modern wash plant operating the state-of-the-art technology. In Q2 2017 it will launch a new floatation unit to allow processing difficult coal and produce concentrate with small fractions below 0.15 mm.
